AEI was established in Jordan as a private company in 1983, with a capital of 750.000 USD which was raised in 1988 to 1.500.000 USD then in 1993 was transformed into a Public Share Holding Company with a paid-up capital of 8.500.000 USD.

In 1983 the company started with the production of high quality electrical accessories that comply with the British Standards (HK trade mark) and Italian Standards (CLEM trade mark). AEI acquired the know how from the well-known Italian company ITALCLEM. The production capacity for the first four years was 2.000.000 pieces per year.

Due to the increased market demand and the introduction to new export markets in 1988 the company raised its production capabilities to 10.000.000 pieces per year and added new production lines for Miniature Circuit Breakers MCB's that comply with the Din Standards and IEC 898.

In 1993 and after the transformation to a Public Share Holding Company with a paid - up capital of 8.500.000 USD the new Board of Directors decided to expand in the production of Electrical cables and wires so new production lines were added with the production capacity of 1000 Tons of copper per year (CABLEPEAK trade mark).

In 1994 a decision was taken to establish a new factory in Egypt, so AEI/Egypt was formed in the 6th October Industrial City, with a paid-up capital of 1.500.000 USD completely owned by AEI / Jordan. At the moment AEI/Egypt produces electrical accessories that comply with the Italian Standards, MCB's and Video Cassettes.

The work force in AEI including Engineers and Administration is around 250. And the company is I.S.O 9001:2000 Certified and has acquired Jordan Conformity Product Certificates in 1998 for all its products.

AEI owns a 28000 sq. meters of land and 8000 sq. meters of industrial buildings in sight A which is located at 40 Km distance from the capital Amman and a 4000 sq. meters land and 3000 sq. meters of industrial buildings in sight B which is located in King Abdullah Industrial Estate 30 Km from Amman. AEI Egypt owns 6000 sq. meters of land and 2000 sq. meters of Industrial buildings in the 6th October City.
